Golfers, sponsors in 2nd Annual IMD Guest House Foundation golf outing help increase donations by 37 percent over 2006

If the 2006 IMD Guest House Foundation golf outing was a hole in one, then the second annual event was an even rarer double Eagle. In 2006, steady sprinkles dampened the course, but didn’t douse the outstanding fundraising effort. This year, a picture-perfect and cool sunny day led to a 37-percent increase in funds raised.
“Lots of planning and preparation went into a day like this and it was very evident that the planning and preparation paid off,” said John Janicik, Foundation board chairman and partner with the Chicago law firm of Mayer Brown LLP.
And pay off it did. The second annual golf outing grossed nearly $37,000, which was nearly $10,000 more than 2006!
“Eighty golfers came out and had a terrific time,” said Executive Director Marianne Floriano. “The financial support is helping us stay in the fairway towards future success with the guests we serve.”
Once again, the Oak Meadows Golf Club in west suburban Addison, Ill. served as the backdrop.

Operating as a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization, the IMD Guest House Foundation was founded to provide a home away from home for families and friends of loved ones receiving care in the Illinois Medical District (IMD). The Guest House is located within walking distance from the IMD's world-class medical institutions that include Rush University Medical Center, University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago, and John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
