Testimonials

"Last year my nineteen-year-old daughter Amy did her research and decided to have deep brain surgery for Dystonia; a condition that has been with her since birth. The procedure of having Deep Brain Stimulators implanted would involve two surgeries. We were informed that we would have to reside in Chicago for three weeks or more, which is a long way form our home in Dallas, Pennsylvania. I had no idea where or how I was going to find a place to stay within our budget for such an obscure amount of time.

My good friend and I were on the phone frantically trying to find an organization to help with our situation. By mere chance I stumbled on to IMD Guest House. From the first phone call I knew the Guest House was going to help make our seemingly impossible journey up to this point, a reality. What this foundation did for us seemed too good to be true.

The apartment conveniently located two blocks from Rush hospital made transportation back and forth a breeze; which meant the world, as I would be making trips to and from the hospital daily. The rates were exceptionally affordable; we could never have stayed at any of the other local hotels and enjoyed the same comforts we came to know at IMD Guest House.

The Guest House was like our new little home; it provided my daughter with a remarkably comfortable place to recover. The kindness and compassion that the staff showed my daughter, my mother and I were unparalleled. They couldn’t do enough to take the best care of us and that’s exactly what they did. Nothing was a problem, which was a big weight off of all of our minds while dealing with Amy’s recovery. Claudette the housekeeper at the Guest House took great pains to make sure we had everything we possibly needed at the apartment. Claudette became a face we really looked forward to seeing.

After about three weeks Amy was recovering wonderfully and we got the ok to leave Chicago and go back home to Pennsylvania, but we would be returning once a month for the next couple of months. The Guest House was amazing; all it took was a phone call and our room would be ready on our scheduled return.

The IMD Guest House truly became our home away from home; we couldn’t have been more comfortable anywhere else. They certainly made our circumstance less stressful. Amy and I are truly grateful for everything IMD has done for us and we will never forget our new found family. "
